He believes everyone should pay taxes except him. I remember when my Democrat Mother (RIP) complained about how lower taxes would deprive the poor so I told her to send a check to the IRS and mark it “for the poor”. She got very mad at me.

    • Octopus says:

It’s societal mental illness. I hope there are sane and brilliant people somewhere, unclouded by political bullshit, who are seriously studying these cases looking for real solutions. Sounds like a pipe dream, I know.

      • rightymouse says:

Young men are being marginalized. Young men between the ages of 18 & 25 are susceptible to mental illness. Unless the male actually does something, parents can’t do anything to get them help without their cooperation. Then there is ignorance and denial.

        • poteen2 says:

Boys aren’t allowed to be boys. They’re going to be loud and active and out of control sometimes. They’re going to bully other boys and be bullied. They’re going to yell and fight. Fathers in the home in days past knew this implicitly and guided them into young manhood. Sometimes with simple guidance, sometimes with fear.
Nowadays, even if there’s a father in the house there’s no guidance or fear. Just time outs and “ADHD” drugs or such. They grow up never learning about the things in life that are out of their or Mommie’s control. Much less learn about the things that can and will hurt them.
When they go off their meds they are lost and their world is just World of WarCraft with no reset.
Overwhelmingly these killers are white, male, teenage and well-off. The poor kids, who have a gangbanger older brother with an AK don’t do it in schools.
Where I went to high school in downriver Michigan in the late 60s all the boys had guns. In the fall during hunting season there was a shotgun or rifle in every trunk.
The only school shooter was Charlie Whitman.
It all started when it became fashionable to have a kid with some “syndrome” so you could narc him up instead of teach.

          • Octopus says:

I’m not ready to let the video games off the hook completely, even though they’re just part of the syndrome. Millions of kids can play violent shooter-based games for years without going postal, but for some, it becomes a pathway to real life murder sprees. It’s a deep problem here, with no easy solution in sight.

          • Bunk X says:

How ’bout that the kid was just a sociopathic mental case and people knew it?

          • poteen2 says:

That’s absolutely true Bunk. He didn’t shoot the teachers who failed him or the bullies who bullied him or the girls who rejected him. He killed little kids and shot his grandma.
He never learned how to deal with people in front of him. He took it out on the ones behind.
He knew he was going to do it. Saves his money to buy a DD4 when he’s 18. That’s a top of the line AR platform. An 18 year old in South LA selling weed and meth on a street corner can make that money in a few days and buy a full auto handgun or rifle with no problem. Then he shoots up the other 18 year olds and a few bystanders. Doesn’t target grandmas and elementary schools. Those guys have been punched and know they can be hurt. Something is different with these guys. He was Hispanic, but I think he was one of those I described above.

I would love to put one on my car, but there are way too many loco-libturds around this town who would happily key the shit out of a car that offended their humorless sensibiliousness.

  13. Octopus says:

Kerr ALWAYS jumps on the bandwagon when there’s a story that “needs” to be pumped up with sanctimonious, emotion-over-facts preaching. I have no doubt he always thinks he’s on the right side of every issue, but, as Yeats said so eloquently, “the worst are filled with passionate intensity.” Never more true, than in Kerr’s case.

I kind of am. I know how the vast majority of them today are being created by mentally-ill parents and peer groups. I know it’s a godforsaken fad, that will be looked back on by historians (medical and general) in horror, much like the Spanish Inquisition, trepanning, and the whole “recovered memories” (planted fake-memories) shitshow of the ‘80’s. Kids are being irreparably damaged as we speak, mentally and physically, in service of this evil myth.

All schools need to provide security for students!!

      • Octopus says:

It’s the only way, of course. And the stupid libs are too dense and politically befuddled to begin to comprehend it. They don’t want to “normalize guns,” you see. They don’t want to acknowledge that law-abiding, responsible citizens can legally own and practice safe gun protocol. They would take guns away from cops, for crud’s sake. They are not rational people interested in real solutions.

  24. rightymouse says:

Son is in town. His godparents came over for dinner last night & then we all watched ‘2000 Mules’. They hadn’t seen it. Was better for me the 2nd time around in terms of focusing on the data. The fraud was horrendous.

    • Octopus says:

It was so egregious, so clumsy and obvious, and yet they managed to gaslight a nation into accepting it. So what hope do we have, electorally?

      • rightymouse says:

He didn’t even get in to the fraud done by workers at the polls with ballots – suitcases full of them pulled out from beneath tables. Or the trucks that brought ballots to the polls in the wee hours of the morning after election night.

It’s probably been going on for some time.

I h.ad a moment of vivid recall the other day, about a college-paper I wrote regarding the political corruption of Chicago, at the fishy-hands of Mayor Daly. The famous-at-the-time columnist, Mike Royko, had written a very damning book about the voting irregularities of downtown and Metro Chicago, about the political machine that was Daly’s Chicago, and was echoed in various strengths in every other urban metropolis. My paper was incendiary, as I was incredulous about the corruption, even as a childish libtard college dweeb, who thought he was smart about stuff. Well, the kid was well-meaning. 😆

  29. Octopus says:

The twitter-SJW’s are all mad at Ricky Gervais over his latest special, so of course I had to watch it – it’s incredibly funny! Anticipates all the angry glurge he knew was coming, ‘cuz he’s heard it all before, directed at others as well as himself, and put that glurge through the shredder right off. Brilliant. If you haven’t seen the 2019 “woke-comic’s” attack on his comedy, I suggest you read it first, and then watch the show. It’s kind of meta. 😆

    https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/comedian-james-acasters-takedown-of-ricky-gervais-trends-following-anti-trans-netflix-special-1235154396/

      • Octopus says:

To me, the whole thing is brilliant, though I understand the problems with religious, God-fearing people.Ricky’s an atheist, a slightly-more adamant one than I am by now, but I was once a militant one, by my family’s standards. As I was discussing with my son-in-law Paddy recently, you can’t ever take the Catholic out of the Catholic-born and raised ones. They got us young, and they got us good. 😆

Going to in-laws tonight. Have been busy making deviled eggs and other yummiest. Have a great evening!

    • Octopus says:

I’m making deviled eggs tomorrow! I have a dozen hard-boiled eggs in the fridge, I was just going to slip into my daily diet next week. Now I’m going to give them all a proper send-off, down my gullet. 🙂

      • rightymouse says:

We’re back home. Great time at in-laws! 🙂
Hope you had success with your deviled eggs! I had a few issues with some of the eggs not peeling well. Fortunately I had enough of them to compensate.

        • Bunk X says:

I let the eggs soak for a bit before boiling. It fools them, and the shells come off easily.
ISTE knows a lot about eggs.

          • rightymouse says:

I was told to use eggs at least a week old. I do that and the shells come off nicely. For whatever reason, these eggs were hit or miss. Some were just fine, but a number of them were terribly difficult to peel.

          • Octopus says:

Reminds me of when we used to get fresh eggs from a neighbor who kept chickens. They were impossible to peel! Until I found a method on YouTube that works great:
            1. Put eggs in pot of water and raise to boil.
            2. As soon as water boils, turn off heat and cover pot.
            3. Wait ten minutes
            4. Replace hot water with cold
            5. Wait a few minutes and peel eggs

      • Abu bin Switzerland says:

Are you sure the jellybeans identified as “Black”?

Just trying to save your marriage.

    • ISTE says:

Alternate eating black jelly beans and scrambled egg then you can shit a Texas Coral Snake and scare the cats!

      • ISTE says:

Coral Snakes have a sense of humour too…
        https://www.livescience.com/43938-coral-snakes-colors-bites-farts-facts.html

When provoked, coral snakes will sometimes make a popping sound by expelling air from their cloaca, a single opening for the urinary, reproductive and intestinal tract, to startle the threat. According to researcher Joseph F. Gemano Jr. in an article in Reptiles magazine, these “microfarts” have been observed in other species, such as the Western hook-nosed snake. Scientists disagree about the behavior’s purpose. Some have speculated that it is a mating call, but Gemano said that in his research, the fart was always associated with an aggressive-defensive behavior.

        They fart…

        • Bunk X says:

Reminds me of when the kids were babies and you could color-code the poops. Peas come out green, yams orange, beets purple. If we had guests over during a changing, I’d say, “Hey Jeff! Come over here. Bet you $10 the poops are purple.”

Once strained meat products were introduced to the diet the olfactory effects kicked in the game lost all its fun.

  50. Abu Norris Norris Norris lol says:

A quick hockey note since my Hawks and Octo’s Wings are absent. Seeing former Wing Gerard Gallant coaching reminds me we used to call him “Gomez” from the second balcony of Chicago Stadium. This was a great era when guys dropped the gloves often. Hence the Chuck Norris division. Gallant was sandpaper, a high compliment.

    • Octopus says:

Gallant was a real hockey player, from the Old School where men were men and they played rough. He was on Yzerman’s wing for a long time, being both an immediate protector (needed for skill-players in those days), an aggressive nuisance, and a guy who could actually light the lamp at key moments.

How much I miss those days when the Wings were relevant every year, on the climb towards greatness that didn’t happen until the late-90’s! I am grateful for being a witness to all of it. 🥲
