A Little Green Memorial Day

“Even in 2003, way before Little Green Footballs was on anyone’s radar, Charles Johnson was paranoid and couldn’t trust his own few commenters to police themselves on a Memorial Day weekend, so he shut off comments on LGF for four days.” – ChenZhen

Here are some more Memorial Day memories from the BRC Archives.

[The following is in reference to (then) Senator Obama’s Memorial Day speech, which was ripped apart by others as a total fabrication. Obama’s great-uncle served in the Navy.]

Charles was once harder than anyone.

Yep. He kicked Google CEO Erich Schmidt’s ass all over the internets because he said so, and still managed to make a national day of remembrance all about Charles Foster Johnson.

It says the waitress is missing.

Facebook ruins everything. It was a classic Crumb, full page of various illustrations around a theme. Instead of that one, here’s something muy racist from the collection called, “Snatch:”

Note: Yes, cancel culture came for the scruffy god of alternative comix, in regards to this and other drawings.

Went to a classic Greek wedding this afternoon, and it was great to see people out in public, living real lives. I danced a couple of Greek dances, and ate everything in sight. Shots of ouzo, of course. Good times!

    • rightymouse says:

Sounds great except the ouzo. I get sick. Same thing with tequila. 😦

      • Octopus says:

Just one shot, after dinner. Won’t send you to the gutter. 🙂

        • rightymouse says:

You should have seen me when I tried them before. Never been so sick in my life. 😦

Just for the record, Chonky’s brother was married to another DWH that weekend. “Dick-Wielding Human,” as we say in Proper Detroit. A dude. With a penis. Just to be crystal.

    • Bunk X says:

Early LGF had his bio and pic. He had a career as a professional ballet dancer, so I guess he was pretty good. Better looking than fartso, too.

      • Octopus says:

Charles’ homophobia becomes even more unattractive, in light of his brother’s preference.

  3. rightymouse says:

Fatso considered himself a Republican back then. Turns out he was a Romney, Bush, Kasich type.

    😂😂😂😂

    The Streak Lives!!

The Idiot Left has had to pivot on this, and accept that the Wuhan lab “theory” is the most plausible thing out there. Chonky is too fat-headed to make this sudden maneuver.

    • dezzez says:

Chuck was out there calling everyone racist right wing loons for connecting the dots, now he wants to hide behind “we may never know” and of course his stupidity wouldn’t be complete without throwing in Trump.
Are there tweets and posts being vaporized? Would it shock anyone?

Attractive bunch of geniuses, aren’t they? 😂

Chonky would fit in perfectly, if only he could fit through the door.

Chonky is frens with Sulu, and they are both still obsessed with Trump, even as Biden wreaks havoc on the country and stumbles toward the Old Deranged Folks Home. Keep it up, guys! You’re doing great work, and eventually the world will start paying you for it. 😆

  12. Octopus says:

Lost another fine entertainer the other day, the mellow-sounding B.J. Thomas. “Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head” was his biggest hit, but he had a bunch of them.

Gus is hiding again with a case of Ripple

    • Octopus says:

I hope it’s not Ripple. Considering they stopped making that fizzy alcopop in the ‘80’s, it wouldn’t be at its peak, most likely. On the other hand, probably better than Sterno.

  18. Octopus says:

He’s back, and mostly focused on the pet adoption thing. Except for the occasional slip:

  19. Octopus says:

We watched the 7-episode miniseries over the longish weekend, and it really is a quality production. Nice twists. Winslett is in rare form, in a very non-glam role.

In case you missed it the other day, Fatass jumped on Twitter right after the show aired with assholish spoilers, and was roundly smacked for it by the few losers who see his crap. He got pissy and took down the spoiler posts, although he was “sure the info is all over the internet by now.” 😂😂😂😄

Chonky is trying to rewrite history so that Byrd was NOT a member of the KKK? Why don’t you go edit his Wikipedia page, Fatass?

“Byrd’s political career spanned more than sixty years. He first entered the political arena by organizing and leading a local chapter of the Ku Klux Klan in the 1940s”

  23. rightymouse says:

The Ohio mask mandate ends today. Woot!

    A Klan President?
Under the Democrats, the person who is now third in line to succeed the President is a former leader of the Ku Klux Klan: Dems Set to Regain Power in Congress.

The Senate, as is typical, will get off to a slower start than the House, where rules and practice permit speedy debate and ensure tight majority power control over the agenda. After passage of a series of routine resolutions – including elevating 89-year-old Sen. Robert Byrd, D-W.Va., as President Pro Tempore, third in the line of presidential succession – the Senate floor will open up for speeches about the upcoming session.

      That’s Steve Vai on guitar.

      • Octopus says:

        Not Fatass? 😂

        • Bunk X says:

That may be the lineup he tried out for, but I’m not sure when George Duke moved on and picked at the leftovers.

      • Bunk X says:

BTW, Steve Vai was in an apartment in San Diego with cardboard boxes for furniture when he started writing transcripts of Zappa’s solos and sent them to Studio Z. He was able to play them, too, so FZ brought him on.

        • Octopus says:

Steve Vai is to Chonky’s soulless noodling, what Victor Davis Hanson is to his mindless raving. 😂

    Athletic prowess! 😃
