Caught in the Act!

The Jazz Man was busted for editing a past post where he called Imam Rauf, an Islamic Extremist. Well He admits to his wrong doing but justifies it!

The Jazz Man can explain this away. The fact is he got caught changing a previous post to reflect his current opinions. He’s a fraud and deserves all the ridicule he gets.

No, they expect people to stand by what they say. Because most people don’t have morals and beliefs that fly away like dandelion seeds.

Also notice that there was no public pre-notification that this would be done. Just your regular ol’ doubleplus good corrections.

      sorry Chuncky.

Like the Loozard who dared to criticize him (amazingly, there’s more than a few) correctly noted, he should have noted he edited his post, instead he just flushed the most important part down the memory hole. Plus this buttwad has ripped other people for flushing and changing material after the fact more times. See: The Kos “Screw Them” post as an example.

OT: Something doesn’t jive with his self-published statistics, ever since he took down Sitemeter he publishes what he claims are his stats. Most day between 60-80K hits but there is no way that is accurate. According to Compete Analytics (which is very reputable) he only gets 89K unique hits a MONTH.

Now I know traffic stats aren’t always based on unique hits, but someone who gets 89K individuals a month is claiming they translate to almost that much on a daily basis?

    Kind of an admin/mechanics thing, but what’s the point of blocking posts that mention s p a c e j e s u s or r e g g i e ?

Is the aim to block posts by those loozards, which posts by them won’t be blocked unless they mention their own nics?

I don’t get what this particular tweak of the DoD spam filter is trying to accomplish…

Actually it counts as a page view. He claims somewhere around 100K of those a day!

    • nil stooge says:

Yeah probably ‘hit’ wasn’t the right term for me to use.

Lately, much more often than historically, it seems the LGF page layout is screwed up, with the fix being a refresh or two. Now if I were a conspiracy theory enthusiast …

  15. nil stooge says:

Admins: I had a couple of my timeless posts end up in the spam filter trap, presumably because they mentioned the nics of a couple of particular loozards (the un-disemvoweled ‘spcjss’ and rgnld prrn’).

Now I’m good for plenty more timeless posts, so that’s no great loss, but I am curious what you’re trying to accomplish by getting the spam filter to trigger on those nics. If anything I would have guessed you’re trying to prevent those loozards from posting here, which tactic would be effective only if they mention their own nics.

Just wondering what your spam filter tweaks are trying to accomplish here?

OT but from the same thread, Charles spins Rauf:

    156- (reply to 155 ) Charles [Mon, Sep 13, 2010 12:54:28pm ]
I do not agree that Britain should incorporate sharia into their existing legal framework, but it’s important to actually read what Imam Rauf wrote here, because he’s not saying he wants to impose sharia, and in fact he’s only talking about “aspects” of sharia that do not conflict with existing British law:

Sharia law is unequivocally clear that Muslims who live as minorities in non-Muslim majority communities are required to abide by the law of the land. That doesn’t prevent British Muslims from practicing aspects of Sharia that don’t conflict with British law, or from seeking changes in British law.

You can argue with his opinion, but this is not some kind of extremist call for imposing sharia law on the UK.

Rauf uses a very careful construct. What does Sharia law say about Muslims who live as majorities in non-Muslim minority communities. I don’t know, but it seems a curiously specific wording by Rauf.

And, what are the specific aspects of Sharia law “that don’t conflict with British law”, according to Rauf?

And finally, how are “changes in British law” – presumably to expand the subset of sharia law that is compliant with British law – somehow effectively different from “am imposition of sharia law”?

This is the best Charles can do inre a re-assuring quote from Rauf to prove he’s a moderate? ‘Moderate’ compared to what, exactly?

    • JohnsonEsque says:

Charles goes of on the guy and questions his “reading comprehension” and says to dwels38, “See, this is the kind of stupid knee-jerk, no-thinking BS that really gets on my nerves. I do not agree that Britain should incorporate sharia into their existing legal framework…”

But in Charles’ initial post which dwells38 referenced Charles said, “I do not agree that Britain should incorporate sharia into their existing legal framework, but [emphasis added!] it’s important to actually read what Imam Rauf wrote here, because he’s not saying he wants to impose sharia, [see he’s not imposing Sharia, so it’s ok] and in fact he’s only talking about “aspects” of sharia that do not conflict with existing British law: …”

So what is it Charles? Charles seems to imply that he’s ok with this, because it’s not exactly Sharia that’s being incorporated into British law. Of course there’s no debating Charles and one of his “attack dogs,” “sychophants,” or Charles’ own “sock puppet” quickly comes in to blast the guy as well. But I though Charles was such a “good writer” now and so embarrassed about his writing ability back in 2001. What a train wreck.

  21. nil stooge says:

dwells38 flounces, and Charles, perhaps a bit sensitive after being busted for his latest little stalin the blogtator revisionist tactics, leaves the entire “goodbye cruel blog” post:

    Got to be kidding me.
And you were just taunting me the other day for unsuccessfully convincing a fellow commenter that my mere criticism of the good Imam did not constitute bigotry.
I never called him anything other than what he is. An Islamic cleric.
I think the argument the other commenter was trying to make is that I used the old term formerly common here on LGF (RoP – now evidently verboten) and that my use of that evil hate-speak word automatically makes me an anti-Muslim bigot and thereby any criticism of Rauf is merely veiled bigotry. When we agreed to no longer speak to one another (since he doesn’t talk to bigots) you taunted me for having gotten my ass kicked (the only real reason I no longer want to speak with him). And the minions gratuituously downpinged I’m sure.
Now your defending limited sharia law?
So this blog is liberal. So what. I can hang with liberals. I’m a social liberal myself.
But I’m not going to be frequenting (much less paying to turn the gratuitous ads off) of a blog that is essentially now pro-Islam. I wouldn’t frequent a pro-Christian website either.
Plus the last couple times here haven’t been fun with the host taunting me and/or making it clear I’m not welcome anyway.
To those i had some fun, friendly interactions maybe I’ll talk to you somewhere else someday. Bye. For some others have fun with the usual door-hit-you-on-the-way-out digs. LOL! I may come back and read them for kicks if Charles doesn’t merely delete this immediately.

    • nil stooge says:

I agree. It’s the end of the beginning of the end, and the beginning of the end of the end for LGF.

The game used to be – read LGF to debate Charles’ historically inconsistent, poorly argued, generally leftist positions.

Now the game is – read LGF to see if you can catch sneaky Charles cheating. That’s a fool’s game.

LGF’s target demographic is now the same group of fools and knaves who’d think Dan Rather has something interesting, intelligent, and honest to say. Good luck with that target demo LGF, you richly deserve each other.

  26. swamprat says:

Well he HAD to do this because Rauf is not a supremacist.Or maybe he was, but now he is not? He could have posted an update, or added a note in parentheses, signed “ed” “editor” “cj” “Charles Johnson”, or even “the grand lizard”.
But that would be admitting an error, and taking responsibility for one’s own words.

Wonder what else is under the bus?

  27. swamprat says:

Assuming you’re talking about Charles …… what’s Dan Rather’s position on Israel, and who in the world, save fools and knaves, cares?

LGF, its host, and its commenters – lately all beneath contempt – have moved themselves to beyond ridicule, and that’s the end of it.

  28. African Moondog says:

Charles Johnson of Little Green Footballs was one of the first people to refer to bloggers as “Citizen Journalists”. He was right. Bloggers reported news that the MSM did not report, or reported news from a different angle from the MSM. In many cases they mocked professional journalists, or exposed their lack of ethics in some cases and held them to their own codes of conduct. What was never stated but was obvious, was that the same codes of conduct and ethics also applied to bloggers and “citizen journalists”. The only people who can ensure that bloggers operate within those parameters are other members of the blogosphere and in this case they have done their duty superbly.

Everyone is aware that Little Green Footballs has done a u-turn in its outlook. While we cannot understand why Johnson took this turn, we all understand that he was in his rights to do so. However, while we recognize the right to change the direction of his site, to tamper with the archives to try and sugar-coat his previous record is a colossal violation of the ethics and codes of conduct that apply to all journalists, be they professional, “MSM”, or “citizen”.

In 2004 Charles Johnson famously forced CBS News to keep operating within the parameters set by those ethics and codes of conduct during the “Rathergate”, scandal. As a result, at least four people, including Mary Mapes, lost their jobs and their source of income.

How Johnson crowed. We all did! What we never expected in those days was that Johnson would eventually commit what is essentially the same transgression. His credibility is shot. His attempts to brush this transgression off with “I’ve been caught making a mistake” will not wash. That was the same excuse used by the “Rathergate” quartet. It was not a mistake but a deliberate action. His word can never again be taken seriously by anybody ever again. His current posters should seriously think about their association with the site. Those who have been banned from the site or those who walked or “flounced” away should thank their lucky stars.

However, the fact remains, Dan Rather, Mary Mapes and their associates lost their income and good standing because they did what Johnson has done, and Johnson held them accountable. Although the stakes are less, the same principle applies.

Give it up Chunky. Get yourself a nice acoustic, a tin cup and see if the tourists at Hollywood and Vine will “hit the tip jar.”

If that’s what he’s claiming then basically he is saying he can’t be held accountable for his thoughts, words, or actions because he is so easily swayed that almost anyone can lead him to believe almost anything.

    Whatever happened to personal responsibility?
